摘要
Boronic acids and derivatives are highly versatile intermediates in synthetic chemistry. The development of modern borylation reactions has contributed to the emergence of boronic acid derivatives as a popular class of reagents. In recent years, catalytic borylation reactions have gained significant attention due to their efficiency, selectivity, and functional group compatibility. In this context, copper‐catalyzed borylations have become a powerful new tool for introducing boronic esters into organic molecules. The lower price and toxicity of copper versus other transition metals and the unique reactivity of the copper‐boryl intermediates make these processes particularly attractive. In this chapter, we will offer an overview of the most important copper‐catalyzed borylation reactions that involve addition of a copper(I)‐boryl complex to a π‐bond.
