Effects of concentrated ambient ultrafine particulate matter on hallmarks of Alzheimer’s disease in the 3xTgAD mouse model

•Concentrated UFP exposure did not cause overt lung inflammation.•UFP exposure in 3xTgAD mice led to perturbations in microglia morphology.•3xTgAD mice exposed to UFP had elevated levels of phospho-tau immunoreactivity.•UFP-exposed 3xTgAD mice had decreased amyloid deposition.
