摘要

•DNA binding domains were swapped to construct AXTF, a chimeric transcription factor.•AXTF was introduced into an amyR-deficient strain, SA1.•The strain with AXTF produces amylolytic enzymes in response to xylose and xylan.•The AXTF-expressing strain could be used in food, textile, and other industries.
