Impact of soil management practices on yield quality, weed infestation and soil microbiota abundance in organic zucchini production

•Reduced tillage using a rototiller is recommended for organic zucchini cultivation.•Ploughing is not a preferred tillage method after cover-crop cultivation.•Rotary tillage, especially with fresh biomass mulch, has a positive effect on soil microbial community.
