Quantifying the ecosystem vulnerability to drought based on data integration and processes coupling

•Drought vulnerability curves of ecosystems through data integration were constructed.•Grasslands and forests exhibited different vulnerability patterns to growing-season drought.•Grasslands are more vulnerable as extreme drought frequency increases in the future.•Forests had certain adaptation to long-term droughts, but much lower than grasslands.
