摘要
This study aimed to analyze the risk factors for piperacillin-tazobactam ( TZP1)-resistant Enterobacter spp. bacteremia. The medical records of 111 patients with Enterobacter spp. bacteremia divided into a TZP-susceptible group (minimum inhibitory concentrations [MICs2] <= 16 mg/ mL) and TZP- resistant group (MICs >16 mu g/mL) were retrospectively reviewed. The male-to-female ratio, age, underlying disease, and infection site did not differ between the 2 groups. Multivariate analysis revealed that the independent predictor associated with TZP- resistant Enterobacter spp. bacteremia was the previous usage of third-generation cephalosporins ( P = 0.036). In conclusion, TZP administration in cases of suspected Enterobacter spp. bacteremia previously treated with third-generation cephalosporin should be cautiously considered. (c) 2021 Elsevier Inc.
