摘要

•Potent siRNAs were designed targeting IE2 and DNA polymerase regions of Malaysian isolate RCMV.•Droplet Digital PCR was employed for virus quantification.•Successful downregulation of gene expression resulted in significant reduction of viral mRNA and DNA copies.•DNA polymerase siRNAs showed better inhibition rate of viral replication and gene expression compared to IE2.
