摘要
This paper presents an experimental study carried out to investigate the behavior of concentrically loaded concrete columns confined with steel-reinforced polymer (SRP) jackets. Several parameters, i.e. size of the specimen, shape of the cross-section, number of layers, and density of steel fiber sheet are investigated. Axial and hoop strain contours on the surface of the composite are obtained with digital image correlation (DIC). SRP confinement improves the load-carrying capacity and ductility of columns. The increment of peak stress and the energy absorption, with respect to the control specimens, for columns of two different sizes suggests the presence of size effect. (C) 2020 Elsevier Ltd.
