Transient dynamics of optical-magnetic resonance in the presence of a detuned radio frequency field

•Dual frequency transient signal is observed for the first time with RF field.•Experimental values of the RF detuning and intensity agree well with the theoretical parameters.•Angular momentum probability surface explains all the features.
