•PTB in pregnancy can cause risk of morbidity to mother and fetus.•Vertical transmission is very rare.•There is risk of transmission to the new born is more in puerperium.•Associated with adverse perinatal outcome in form of prematurity, low birth weight.•Pulmonary TB must be treated with anti-tubercular therapy.
