Steering reflective space debris using polarised lasers

摘要
•We explore possibility to control space debris with a laser inducing radiation force.•We introduce a polarised light scattering model for space debris.•The theory is supplemented with laboratory measurements.•Scattering from asymmetric particles is asymmetric in 3D, and partially polarised.The direction of force can be thus controlled by the polarisation of laser beam.
