摘要
Abstract Algae-associated clinical infections and the presence of algae and cyanobacteria as building contaminants are less understood than those of analogous bacteria and fungi. As algae and their affiliated complications have been further recognized, it has become evident that these organisms are emerging pathogens. Algae and the closely related cyanobacteria have been documented to cause a variety of infections and intoxications in humans and dogs. These organisms can be present in a wide array of water-damaged buildings (especially related to environmental water reservoirs) and building materials. Algae may also be despoilers, destroyers, or defacers.
