The impact of the coronavirus disease (COVID-19) pandemic on outpatient epilepsy care: An analysis of physician practices in Germany

•Coronavirus disease pandemic also affected management of chronic diseases such as epilepsy.•Adherence to anti-seizure treatment remained stable during lockdown in Germany.•Reduced care was observed in patients with newly diagnosed epilepsy and hospital care.•The results may help to prepare healthcare systems for possible future lockdowns.
