摘要

•PKC feed-back mechanisms coordinate to regulate the P2Y-activated Ca2+ response in hepatocytes.•Two pools of differentially-activated PKC exists with distinct activity and efficacy.•The model predicts that PKC phosphorylates a P2Y2/4 receptor coupled PLC increasing the production of IP3.•PKC activity enables broad-spike Ca2+ oscillations in the absence of external Ca2+.
