Design of a Dual-Band Injection Locked Frequency Tripler with Sixth-Order Transformer-Based LC Tank

摘要
This paper presents a dual-band Injection Locked Frequency Tripler (ILFT) for local oscillator generation in TSMC40nm CMOS process. The proposed ILFT utilizes combined injection scheme and a carefully designed sixth-order transformer-based LC tank to achieve a dual-band wide locking range with flat output power without introducing any extra tuning scheme. The simulation results show that consuming 20.9mW from 1.1V supply voltage, the 5dB-bandwidth of output power reaches 57-66GHz and 77 -86GHz with 0 dBm input power.
