Social anxiety and salesperson performance: The roles of mindful acceptance and perceived sales manager support

•Salesperson social anxiety is negatively associated with sales performance.•Mindful acceptance (MA) is associated with lower social anxiety.•Perceived sales manager support (MS) is associated with lower social anxiety.•MA and MS alleviate the negative social anxiety - sales performance relationship.•Qualitative findings validate the empirical findings and offer managerial insights.
