摘要
The Middle Palaeolithic site of Marieva Gora in the Mius river basin (North-Eastern Azov Sea region) is located on a cretaceous upland near the sources of flint raw materials. The site has been known since 1952. As a result of complex geological processes, cultural remains are preserved in re-deposited condition in the sediments of deluvio-colluvium origin. About 1000 stone artifacts were collected in the course of field works conducted in 2019. The primary flaking technique is based on the exploitation of Levallois cores, including cores designed to produce points. The tool set includes side scrapers of different types, points and bifaces. The industry belongs to the group of Middle Palaeolithic assemblages combining Levallois technology and bifaces.
