摘要
The Congregation of the Sacred Heart [SCJ], founded in 1878, settled in northern and central Mozambique during the last century and its members [called dehonians] still remain in missions open to the world, spiritually guiding and helping the local community. But new times have brought financial difficulties, and its members have to find ways to sustain their activities.Tourism can be the solution for the communities of Nampula, Alto-Molocu, Quelimane, Milevane and Gurue, in the provinces of Nampula and Zambezia. The objective is to discuss the touristic possibilities in the SCJ communities, present in central and northern Mozambique, based on the potential of the regions where they are based, specifically the natural and cultural characteristics of the local and religious communities and pastoral and social activities of the SCJ. Through SWOT analysis created in the aftermath of the fieldwork, the development of touristic activity in this context is expected to be achieved. However, this is a solution that requires will and financial effort from the SCJ and the attraction of the appropriate audience.
