•Alcohol (0.8 g/kg) altered functional connectivity to reward-related regions in healthy young men.•It increased connectivity from reward-related regions to sensory and motor cortex.•It increased connectivity between seeds related to cognitive control.•A lower dose (0.4 g/kg) did not significantly change functional connectivity.
