1H NMR-based metabolomics study of the dynamic effect of Xue-Fu-Zhu-Yu capsules on coronary heart disease rats induced by high-fat diet, coronary artery ligation

•We compared the impact of XFZY capsules and SIM on model rats for 7 days. The result did not suggest that the effects of XFZY capsules were slower than SIM.•We investigated the dynamic metabolic characteristics of XFZY capsule on CHD rats, more potential biomarkers changed after 28 days of medication.•We summarized and analyzed the potential biological metabolites from the results LC-MS and NMR, the top statistically significant pathways were linoleic acid metabolism, taurine and hypotaurine metabolism, starch and sucrose metabolism, glycine, serine and threonine metabolism and purine metabolism.
