摘要

•Lignin of poplar pre-hydrolysis liquor (PHL) was effectively adsorbed by TiO2 nanosheets, realizing the purification of PHL.•The adsorbed lignin was transformed into carbon quantum dots on TiO2.•Carbon quantum dots significantly improved the efficiency of photocatalytic CO2 reduction of TiO2 nanosheets by 300 %.•A bridge between photocatalytic technology and lignin application was built.
