摘要

•Six gene markers were analysed in Italian trotter horses (ITHs).•A COX412 marker and GCK haplotype were associated with several racing performances.•COX4I2 SNP seems to be a promising marker for racing longevity and durability.•GCK haplotype was associated with best racing time, earnings and wins.
