Cooperative Spectrum Sensing with Entropy for Mobile Cognitive Radio Networks

Spectrum sensing is one of the most important processes in Mobile Cognitive Radio Networks because the whole system depends on its values to decide on the spectrum frequency assignment to the secondary users. The mobility of all the users in these networks and the characteristics of the path makes it difficult that a user know the entire environment, this is why a cooperative spectrum sensing scheme is adopted to detect Primary User presence. This work presents the results of a cooperative spectrum sensing detection based on Entropy values in mobile cognitive radio networks implemented using USRP equipment, this scheme shows an improvement over the individual detection or cooperative energy detection.
