摘要
Drying behaviour of poly(styrene)-p-xylene coatings has been modified using a plasticizer. Triphenyl phosphate is used as a plasticizer in order to minimize the residual solvent and its effect on surface morphology of the prepared coatings. The residual solvent has decreased with an increase in triphenyl phosphate loading in various coatings having 5% poly(styrene) with 0-2% triphenyl phosphate. The highest decrement is 91.33 % in the case of 1300 mu m initial thickness with 2% triphenyl phosphate loading. The presence of triphenyl phosphate is not able to create the morphological changes in the various coatings of different thicknesses. The amount of residual solvent left in thinner coatings are high as compared to thicker coatings.
