摘要
Objective: analyze cardiovascular events (CVE) in patients hospitalized for legionella pneumonia (LP) and their prognosis. Methods: Prospective observational study, including all consecutive immunocompetent adult patients hospitalized for LP in the pneumology service of our hospital for a 18 year period. The bacteriological diagnosis was based on the result of urinary antigen test. For the purpose of this study we have evaluated those patients who presented an acute intrahospital CVE: atrial arrhythmia (AA), heart failure (HF) or ischemic heart disease (IHC). All survived patients were followed-up for 3-month period after being discharged. Patient survival was analyzed using the Kaplan-Meier method. Results: 243 patients with LP included. We registered 36 CVE during hospitalization (24 AA (16new-8 worsening), 9 HF (7new-2worsening) and 3 IHC (2new-1worsening)) in 33 (13.6%) patients (2 AA + HF and 1 AA+MI). Table1: demographics and comorbidities. Table2: in-hospital course. Figure1: Kaplan-Meier 90 day survival curve according to the presence of CVE. Conclusions: 13.6% of the patients hospitalized for LP experienced CVE during hospital admission. CVE patients were associated with worse in-hospital curse. CVE patients had worse prognosis after hospital discharge.
