A New Compound from Polygonum amplexicaule var. sinense

One new phenyl group dimeric compound, named polygamol A ( 1 ), together with two known compounds, 2,2-bis[4-(2,3-dihydroxypropoxy)phenyl]propane ( 2 ) and 1,3-di-O-[2′,2′-di-(p-phenylene)isopropylidene]-glycerol ( 3 ), were isolated from the roots of Polygonum amplexicaule var. sinense . The structures of these compounds were elucidated based on spectroscopic analysis. The new compound exhibited weak activity in vitro against the MGC-803, A549, SMMC-7721, and HT-29 cell lines.
