Effect of ozonated water combined with sodium bicarbonate on microbial load and shelf life of cold stored clementine (Citrus clementina Hort. ex Tan.)

•The ozone in water, as a sanitizer, is an eco-friendly alternative to hypoclorite.•The efficacy of ozonated water with sodium bicarbonate was investigated.•Quality characteristics of ozonated clementines were evaluated.•The integrated treatments reduced the decay incidence during the whole storage.
