Estimating static/dynamic strength of notched unreinforced concrete under mixed-mode I/II loading

•Mixed-Mode static/dynamic strength of notched concrete is investigated experimentally.•Notched un-reinforced concrete is modelled as a linear-elastic, homogenous, and isotropic material.•Critical distance methods are used to assess notch static/dynamic strength of concrete.•The design approach being proposed can be applied in conjunction with commercial FE codes.
