ADHD and ADHD-related neural networks in benign epilepsy with centrotemporal spikes: A systematic review

•Age of onset, seizure frequency and occurrence of EEG discharges might impair cognition, attention and impulsivity in patients with BECTS.•Reduced connectivity of the DAN in patients with BECTS and ADHD could explain the failure to ignore extraneous stimuli.•Increased connectivity of the VAN in patients with BECTS could determine deficient selective attention, increased distractibility and predisposition to ADHD.
