•We report eddy-covariance measured GHG fluxes over a highbush blueberry field.•The field emitted more CO2 relative to N2O and CH4 in CO2 equivalents.•The field was a source of CO2 but a net carbon sink in the carbon balance.•Annual N2O emissions were underestimated by default and Canada-specific equations.•Changes in soil moisture and rainfall were associated with higher N2O emissions.
