摘要
Anisotropic permittivity affects the accuracy of PCB component high frequency models especially in the cases of long via delay time and stripline far end crosstalk. In this paper, stripline-slotline rectangular resonators are used for measuring uniaxial anisotropic permittivity of composite dielectric materials for high-speed system PCB signal integrity modeling and simulation. Transmission resonance frequencies of the sample are measured and compare with the simulated ones by commercial electromagnetic simulation tools supporting anisotropic permittivity of the dielectric material. Two different transmission line cross sections, namely, stripline and slotline, are used to generate different electromagnetic field distribution to emphasis different directional components of the anisotropic permittivity. Two different basic resonators, namely ring and stub, are also tested and compared to each other. The proposed methods use samples by the same regular PCB manufacture technology as in the real products. That makes sense for a better model to hardware correlation in high speed system signal integrity design.
