Evaluation of milk characteristics and fatty acid profiles in Markhoz and Kurdish hairy goats

•Some milk fatty acids were influenced by breed-production system.•Lactation stage affected all milk components except for protein percentage.•The effects of animal ages on daily milk yield were significant.•Markhoz goat’s showed higher potential for producing good fats.
