Wood chips gasification in a fixed-bed multi-stage gasifier for decentralized high-efficiency CHP and biochar production: Long-term commercial operation

•Multi-stage gasification is an effective way of power production from woody biomass.•The GP750 gasifier produces low-tar producer gas with high efficiency.•The tar content in a gas from the GP750 ranges from 5 to 50 mg∙m−3.•The gross electric efficiency of the CHP plant Kozomín was between 29.1 and 32.9%.
