Severity benchmarks and contemporary clinical norms for the Obsessive-Compulsive Inventory-Revised (OCI-R)

•The OCI-R is a widely used measure for the assessment of OC symptom severity.•No severity benchmarks or large normative work has been published to date.•Psychometric properties were assessed, and cutoffs and norms were developed in a large OCD sample.•Sensitivity and specificity of cutoffs were largely adequate.•Limitations of the OCI-R are discussed and recommendation for adequate use are offered.
