•We integrate rotation axis calibration and servo control to register point clouds.•We propose the circle of deviation constraint for robust feature matching/rejection.•Alternating optimization divides, linearlizes and accelerates the objective function.•The proposed method outperformed other BA or ICP-based registration methods.
