摘要
The technology has progressed in recent years as well as the average life expectancy, which has led to a visible increase in the number of elderly people. As people get older, the health conditions usually degrade. As consequence, the help needed in daily routines changes considerably. Thus, a lot of technology solutions is being developed with the aim to try to mitigate this problem. There are a number of diseases that cause a progressive decline in the person's physical and cognitive capabilities, which are intrinsically associated with the advancing age. Alzheimer's is one of the most common diseases in this specific area and one of those that needs more solutions. Since those suffering from this disease can suffer from cases of wandering that in turn can lead to traumatic experiences. This paper analyzes the use of dynamic power consumption profiles that deal with the activation and deactivation of the various functions offered by wearable localization devices, increasing their active stage duration in support of people with dementia.
