Some analytical results on spatial price differentiation in first-best congestion pricing schemes

•A class of first-best congestion pricing schemes to differentiate price spatially are examined.•Two hybrid pricing schemes are proposed to internalize privacy cost.•Minimum toll burden to decentralize SO decreases as toll becomes more differentiated.•With link-additive privacy cost, new hybrid scheme demonstrates interesting properties.
