Foreseen Changes in the Future Transportation Jobs due to the New Trends

This paper has been developed in the context of the SKILLFUL project. It analyses and describes the changes that are expected to occur in the short ( 2020), medium (2030) and long (2050) horizon future and how they are going to affect the employability of the transportation system professionals. The paper presents the initial outcomes of the literature review and questionnaires' analysis of transportation experts from various domains, regarding the future trends and changes. It included the prioritization of such trends, based on the influence they have or estimated to have in the future, while also their expected impact to the future transportation workforce, causing the alteration or even elimination of some jobs, but also the emergence of others.
