Study on MPPT Algorithm Based on Improved Optimum Gradient Method

PV output of PV modules has complex nonlinear characteristics, affected by temperature, light intensity and other external environmental factors. It needs controller algorithm of Maximum Power Point Tracking (MITT) to make PV modules always working in near the point of maximum power and efficiency of photovoltaic power generation system. Based on the traditional optimal gradient method, based on the improvement of gradient gk and incremental coefficient k alpha, the optimal gradient method improved photovoltaic maximum power point tracking algorithms are proposed and validated by MATLAB simulation.
