摘要
Gentiopicroside is the major component of Gentianaceae plants, a widely used traditional herbal medicine in China. Triptolide (TP) is the main component of Tripterygium Wilordii Hook. f. (TW) and responsible for its toxicity effects. We have therefore examined the ameliorative potential of gentiopicroside against TP induced hepatotoxicity in HepG2 cells. The treatment of gentiopicroside (1-50 mu M) showed dose-dependent protectiveness on TP-induced cytotoxicity in HepG2 cells via mitochondrial and oxidative pathway. Our findings show that gentiopicroside possess anti hepatotoxic effects and suggested to use as medicinal supplement during TW based chemotherapy.
