Preparation and Evaluation of Emulsion Containing Vitamin A and Vitamin D-3 and Pharmacodynamics Study in Mice

Vitamin A and vitamin D-3 can regulate the material energy metabolism of the body and affeet the growth and development of animals. However, clinical applications were limited due to their low water solubility, oxidiz.ability and instability. In this study, emulsions containing vitamin A and vitamin D-3 were prepared by mechanical method. The physical properties and stability in vitro and pharmacodynamics in mice were evaluated. The results showed that the emulsions were milk white and homogeneous liquid with good stability. The morphology of emulsions showed a good sphericity with the diameter in the range of 1 similar to 7 mu m, and the mean diameter was 3.635 +/- 1.42 mu m. The contents of immunoglobulins and the levels of antioxidants were increased in mice. Thus, the emulsions containing vitamin A and vitamin D-3 with good stability and efficiency can be used as clinical dosage form.
