A novel sample-preparation method for the generic and rapid determination of pesticides and mycotoxins in tea by ultra-performance liquid chromatography–tandem mass spectrometry

•Ammonium acetate buffer immersion and acetonitrile-DMSO improved extraction efficiency.•Most interferences in the extract were eliminated by the dual d-SPE employing C18 sorbent and MgSO4.•Satisfactory validation was obtained for both hydrophobic and hydrophilic analytes.•This streamlined approach reduced turnaround times and solvent consumption.
