摘要
This article attempts to contribute to the studies of Parliamentary Diplomacy conducted by Senate of the Republic of Chile (2010-2014), framed by the lawsuits brought forward by Peru and Bolivia against Chile in the International Court of Justice. In this way, the proposal is that the Senate's Diplomacy accomplishes a collaborative role, becoming a contributing participant in the country's foreign policy, which is constitutionally exercised by the Executive Branch, trough the President of the Republic. This nontraditional diplomacy, which in coordination with the Executive, must be perfected and strengthened in the face of the new challenges that the defense of national interest and the pursuit of peaceful solutions in a globalized world present. In broad strokes, this is an analysis based on exhaustive research of the extant documents and bibliography, as well as revealing interviews conducted with the main actors in Parliamentary Diplomacy in the National Congress.
