Facile Synthesis of Porous CuO/GO Nanosheets for High-Performance Lithium-ion Battery Anodes

Porous CuO/GO nanosheets have been synthesized via a facile and environmentally benign approach. In this synthetic system, Cu(OH)(2)/GO nanocomposites precursors were produced first for electrostatic interaction between GO and Cu2+ in a alkaline solution, and then porous CuO nanosheets were obtained from dehydration of the Cu(OH)(2) precursor. The structure and electrochemical performance of this porous CuO/GO nanosheet was fully characterized by various techniques, such as XRD, SEM, and TEM. Fortunately, as anode materials for lithium-ion batteries, the CuO/GO nanocomposites electrodes deliver relatively high reversible capacity, excellent rate capacity and cycle stability. These results suggest that the facile synthetic method of combining introduction of GO and preparation of porous nanostructures can realize excellent electrochemical properties, which is promising for next-generation high-performance lithium-ion batteries.
