摘要

•LA–ICP–MS was successfully applied to hydrous mineral analysis in bauxite.•It shed light on the use of the in-situ method to sedimentary rocks investigation.•Ga and V are enriched in diaspore/boehmite and chlorite in bauxite, respectively.•Smectite and monazite may be the main host minerals of Li and REEs, respectively.
