SYNTHESIS OF NOVEL BENZOFURAN HYBRID DERIVATIVES

Methyl (2R, 3R)-2-(4-hydroxy-3-methoxy-phenyI)-7-methoxy-5-[(E)-3-methoxy-3oxo-prop-1-enyl]-2,3-dihydrobenzofuran-3-carboxylate [3] in dichloromethane was added pyridine [7] DMAP [6], DCC [5] and aromatic/substituted aromatic acids [4(a-h)] to obtain methyl (2R, 3R)-7-methoxy-2-[3-methoxy-4-(substituted) oxy-phenyl]-5-[(E)-3methoxy-3-oxo-prop-1-enyl]-2,3-dihydrobenzofuran-3-carboxylates (8a-8h). These synthesized compounds were characterized by H-1 NMR, IR, elemental analysis and mass spectral data.
