Preparation of tungsten-based material and the effect on oxygen reduction reaction

Different Tungsten bronze powders were prepared from W powder, WO3 and alkali carbonate by high temperature synthesis method, then were doped into spent battery powders to obtain an oxygen reduction catalyst with low cost and excellent catalytic ability. According to the XRD and SEM of the powders and the electrochemical analysis of the powders after the preparation of the electrodes, there were a large number of oxygen vacancies in Rb0.27WO3 crystal and a four-electron transfer process in the process of dissolved oxygen, which were pivotal to improve the performance of oxygen reduction reaction catalyst. The cathode of metal-air battery doped with Rb0.27WO3 had the highest voltage in the constant-current discharge test platform, and the platform voltage showed the most stable performance under different current densities, especially under the high current densities.
