A Move in the Right Direction But a Long Way to Go: A Commentary on Hopwood's Target Article

The target article addresses an important issue-the need for an integrated conceptual model of personality disorder-by proposing a synthesis of the Five-Factor Model and interpersonal theory. Although the proposal is compromised by the substantial conceptual and clinical limitations of both approaches, the article includes ideas that could make a useful contribution to a more integrated approach.
