HEXACO and the Individual

Adopting an idiographic perspective, we consider the relevance of the HEXACO framework for studying the individual case, focusing on a recently published psychological biography of Donald J. Trump. We conclude that HEXACO's distinction between agreeableness and honesty/humility adds value. The distinction proves useful not because Trump shows differential standings on the two traits, but because the life-history data sources, lines of argumentation, and the overall respective framings of these two dimensions differ so markedly from each other in this particular case-and, we suspect, in many others.
