摘要
•Nanocomposite PMMA/Ag decreases the number of cultivable cells in the C. albicans biofilm.•Silver nanoparticles disrupt C. albicans biofilm formed on the surface of acrylic resin.•Incorporation of silver nanoparticles into acrylic resin does not affect significantly the flexural strength of the material.•Silver nanoparticles do not cause inflammatory response after 60 days of implantation in subcutaneous tissue of rats.
